Looking sucky for NASCAR WC coverage this year...

NASCAR.COM is listing lots of races (including the Bud Shootout this Sun.) as being on either TNT or FX - both unavailable to any Canadian services. TSN currently has only 1 race listed, the Daytona 500 (that's on NBC anyways). Gonna be a sad season if they don't add more...

NASCAR fans learned last year that you cannot rely on Canadian broadcasters. Might be a tad better since SpeedTV should have a lot of NASCAR info as well, that's if we get to keep it in Canada since it's basically a Fox Sports Net channel now [img]/forums/images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

If you really want NASCAR, get a BUD, FX is in fixed key and doesn't require subscription, TNT costs around $30/year. The bonus is they throw in a bunch of series and lots of movies as well! [img]/forums/images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

Why should anyone in NA have to jump through hoops to watch programming that was awarded to 2 OTA networks. When FOX & NBC won the bid to show the races, no mention was made that they would move some races over to their cable affiliates. Obviously done to get viewers to pressure their CableCos to carry those stations. I blame FOX & NBC for doing it & NASCAR for allowing it to happen.
I'm hopeful TSN and Sportsnet will pick up races as the season moves along. But the Olympics have screwed up this weekend [img]/forums/images/icons/frown.gif[/img]
BTW I could not physical fit a BUD on either yard on my property. You must work for one of those lawn-care companies that call during supper...

I have posted this a number of times over the years on Kusat. For some time now, to get the full choice of programming, one has to have 2 dishes: 1 Canadian and 1 American

With HD, even though the pickins are slim, it seems that 3 services are required to get everything right now.

It's the same every year.

TSN and Sportsnet will pick up the races. Some may be time delayed, but most if not all will make it to air one way or another.

I think only one race was missed last year, but I could be wrong.

Just wish I had a little more cash right now. My dad is heading down there for the race in Daytona. My cousin got him a pit pass and all, so he'll be having fun. I'm not that great of a racing fan (I watch 5-10 a year), but to go there and see/smell it, that would be fun.

I figure they'll pick up the races eventually too, though we missed at least a couple last year. The thing that really sucks this year, though, is that we don't get the Bud Shootout, qualifying or the Twin 125s. I'm ready for some racing, dambit. Too bad it wasn't FOX with Daytona this year & NBC last. That would have been a much better situation IMO.
