Hello all. Does anyone know of any place in the Toronto area that sells multistandard televisions? I'm fed up with the PAL conversion (or lack there of, practically) of my DVD player. Any help would be much appreciated. I don't need anything huge or fancy (this would be a second set).

Does your DVD player have a built in PAL-NTSC chip? These days you can get very good DVD players with built in PAL to NTSC processing for $200. Most of them are of Chinese origin.

Well, I have an Xwave LB-900 (a chinese unit). The picture quality is ok, and the conversion is reasonably ok on non-anamorphic DVDs. But anamorphic DVDs convert squished (even on the anamporphic mode on my Sony). I'd rather do things right and see a clean PAL signal.

Here in Ralston AB the Canex sells chinese made PAL/NTSC DVD players cheap. With all the brits posted here they need 'em to play their DVDs from home.
