If being able to control the room light is not an issue , then go front.

Size does matter..... in everything. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Well, as Geoff says, it partly depends on how much control you have over the room light. But, size also makes a difference.

If you don't have complete control over the room light, then absolutely do NOT get a front projector. Even rear projectors, you need to have reasonably good control of the room lighting, but a RPTV doesn't need the room to be as dark as a FPTV needs.

You also need to consider what size TV you want. If you are only looking for 50" or smaller, a rear projector will do a good job, and is much simpler. Anything bigger, and you should be considering a front projector.

I'd still consider front projection
(this from the guy who bought a 56" Panny RPTV 5 days ago)

there was a thread in AVS that alluded to the release of some new FP's that are going to breaks the 3k Canadian rice pont and offer some features not seen in this price point, AND don't forget to check out Curt Palme's reconditioned CRT's on E-bay.
