I have to install a C-Com internet system and I don't know too much about it. Can someone give me some info.
What's suppose to be there for equip? What satellite does it use? What equip is needed to point it? Can it be done without a training coarse? How is it hooked to a computor and tell me something about the software. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.
Just a guess... but if you have these types of questions, you will not be allowed to install the CCom system. You must have site technician certification to install two-way satellite systems in Canada and the US.

Like Mr VH says..
You need a site tech ID to contact the NOC so the Cross Poll can be done..
Thanks for the replies. I passed up the installation as I fiqured it was beyond my ability and didn't need the aggravation. It would be nice to know a little more about "the system" if someone wanted to take the time to write a couple things here or direct me in the right direction.

Yes I would be a bit worried about investing that kind of $$$ in a sytem with latency issues and the possibilities coming along with spread spectrum wireless modems.
Many smaller comunities are being updated to high speed internet with systems that involve a single provider with a big pipe (either satellite or hard wired) then they set up a "Waverider"(or similar tech) network that uses wireless HIGH speed modems and relay stations to cover as much territory as they need.

If you are 10 miles from the nearest house. Satellite is probably the only option in the near future. If you are within 10 miles of the nearest comunity however small. I would wait and check into what the local government has seen as far as internet possibilities are concerned.
That's to much money to spend without doing lots of research specific to your own area.

Before I would tell anyone in Ottawa Area to Invest $$ in 2Way I would sugest that they look at the avaliable area for wireless Internet
