I highly suspect that they will announce a tour, Q107 in Toronto has been running an event online to get people to vote to get them to have a concert in TO. So I suspect that they know that a tour is in the works.

I think they should retire, I mean Mick never could sing that well live anyway /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
I was never a huge Stones fan myself, I do like some of their stuff but in general the sound of Mick live killed any hope of me becoming a big fan of their sound.
Now a Pink Floyd tour, that's something I'm waiting for, I think they're still young enough to do it too /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
I thought that the Voodoo Lounge tour was awesome and I am not even a very big Stones fan!

I have an old t-shirt from the 1978 "Some Girls" tour. On the t-shirt it says "LAST TOUR" /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I am pretty sure they meant Last Tour of 1978.

I'm with you. I'd give up one of my kids to get "Delicate Sounds of Thunder" in high definition and DD5.1 Of course I'd give'em both up for seats at a final Pink Floyd concert.

Floyd! Now your talking MY music.
I saw them 3 times.
Ottawa:
Sound of Thunder tour front row no less at Landsdowne Park. Excellent show. Who says pigs can't fly.
Montreal: Olympic stadium nosebleed seats Division Bell tour.
Toronto: CNE Also nosebleed seats around 94. Can't remember the name of the tour. Can't remember much about that night either /forums/images/icons/wink.gif.

Actually, there was only one tour in 1978. I saw them in St. Paul MN. which was the middle (North American) leg of the tour. The scuttlebut surrounding the tour back then was that they weren't going to be touring any more. I know it sounds extremely funny since it was so long ago, but you have to remember that the Stones had already being going strong for about 17 years at that time which is still a long time for most bands. IMO, it was also the last really good album they produced.

I remember the Ivor Wynne concert (1975, I believe) where they accidently blew up the scoreboard /forums/images/icons/blush.gif
Now don't get the wrong idea /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif but I have 2 tapes of the Floyd concert from Hamilton.
God only know how that ended up in my Springsteen collection. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Speaking of "Farewell Tours", how many have The Who had? Seems like every tour they had was their last.

I went to Vancouver concert a couple of years ago..at the Collisium...terrible sound..expensive seats but on the floor.
I never want to go again ..standing up on cement floor with "crowds" of very stoned unwashed types. Mick was a little dot bouncing back and forth across the stage.. got to see Keith and rest on the big screen Mick never stood still long enough to focus in on him..back and forth strutting.
Neat lasers and confetti show at the end..
I was a Mod not a Rocker in my tender youth
(long live J,G "in spirit & P,R).
I was certainly a big enough Stones fan and still consider them one of the the greatest R&R bands ever, BUT . . .
Sheesh! They are a virtual travesty of their former selves. The times have changed. The world has changed. I have changed.
No interest in seeing the Stones now. None at all.

I saw them back in '89(?) at the SkyDome - front row, centre seats (I had a friend with wild connections back then) It just hasn't been the same since seeing concerts from regular nose-bleed sections.
