Hi guys;

I've compiled the following schedule HDTV schedule from TMN. Nowhere does TMN list these, but I believe that this is fairly accurate. Please let me know if anything is missing.

Note: Yes, I agree, the scheduling isn't very good /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

Great list! Thanks.

I see some potential problems:
Quickly looking at Sunday 24th:

Chocolat 6:00 am to 8:05 am
Gladiator 8:00 to 10:20 am
Traffic 9:25 am to 11:55 am

I wonder how TMN will handle this? Not really an issue for me, I'm not going to wake up early on a Sunday to watch these movies.

Missed this one: The Stalking of Laurie Show. I'm not sure if 2:30 am is Wednesday or Tuesday? (last night)

Great list!

Exactly what I expected - not much but its a start.
I must say I'm really impressed with Rogers. They are going to win back some customers (like me) if they keep up with this type of market leadership! I know Evu will respond to this when there new bird is up in the air and I'm sure *C unfortunately will be content with the status quo.

Now if only Rogers would call me to tell me that my HD box is shipped - I've been waiting for almost 2 months for my box!

Two Months?!?! Is your area > 750 Mhz? if it is, and you are still waiting, get on the phone and make sure they send one out to you by the end of the day!!!

All of these movies with the exception of Spy Kids which airs this month, have been playing on Star Choice for the last 2 months or more..So what does Roger's bring to the table more than the others have.

6 or 7 more channels that's what.
SC , BEV and Rogers have nothing to do with TMN other than they show what's given to them.

I know TMN provides the movies, that was my point I was responding to Neojames post. His comment "I know Evu will respond to this when there new bird is up in the air and I'm sure *C unfortunately will be content with the status quo. " They show exactly the same amount of movies now.
so, having 6 or 7 channels with pretty much the same program content is better, kind of a waste of bandwidth. It's like having a 100 cd disc changer but you only own 10 cd's.

There" is" more and it is better with 6-7 channels because YOU can choose what you want to see not your provider.
There are more and more conflicts and when NBC starts up , it will become impossible for BEV to keep up before their bird is up and running.

Put the pom-poms down, we are talking about TMN movies and not what's on the networks.

With regards to TMN specifically, I don't see any difference between the three. I looked at the schedule (at least for BEV) and it lists the movies there.

My question is do they play the HD version everytime the non-hd version is played? And, if they do, is that channel used for anything else?

If the channel is used for something else, then there is the potential for conflicts, otherwise they are even.

Let's hope that now that another provider has HDTV, TMN will add more movies in HD.

*C's motto is "you have a choice", well as it stands today Rogers is the best HD "choice" - period. Yes the amount of HD programming overall is still primarily focused to primetime hours but we HD viewers are finally starting to experience "conflict" during primetime - and this is only going to get more interesting when NBC launches there primetime shows in HD. Imagine if *C decided to slot TMN movies on HD1 or HD2 during primetime weekday hours - there would be some serious conflict or even better if they decided to add Fox's widescreen programming or some new PBS shows during primetime. As HD programming increases *C with its 2 channels must decide which shows to broadcast and which ones not too, therefore, many viewers are going to lose the option of watching what they want while Rogers will give viewers the "choice" of what they want to watch.

Huh? This list has nothing to do with Rogers!

I simply looked up the movies that are to be shown in HDTV in March (from the Debut magazine). Nowhere on TMN's web site do they speak about HDTV. After reading the movies description and noting the 7 movies in HDTV, I then looked up the schedule on the web site.

Yes, my list makes one major assumption... that everytime the movie appears in standard def that it will be shown at the same time in HDTV. I believe that looking back at the last few weeks, this is a fairly safe bet.

Let's give it a try for a month shall we?

I wrote to TMN, asking them for a list of HD movies for the month. Their response was to note that the move would say that it was broadcast in HDTV in the alphabetical listing in the Feature magazine. The movies would then be playing at the same time in standard and HD. No mention was made of what would happen when two movies conflicted.

Dede - let me clarify what I said about being impressed with Rogers.

I am impressed with Rogers having 10 HD channels first and foremost - I know that the number of movies that TMN has in HD has nothing to do specifically with Rogers but give Rogers credit for having a dedicated TMN channel which removes any possibility of conflicting broadcasts that may occur with other HD programming.

2 weeks after making the list, would anyone like to comment on the accuracy of the list (and my assumption!)? I believe it's been pretty much dead on.... anyone notice any errors?
