Does anybody have any idea if expressvu will offering any of those trade in's like they did last year? I would really like to unload my starchoice equipment as it seems to me that starchoice has made their choice to not develop their product any further while expressvu seems to be announcing some sort of enhancement every other week.

Thx

Maybe our new friend VuTang might be able to give some insights. But given the apparent trend to lower incentives, they might not make such an offer.

I doubt it. With the price of a new receiver after programming rebate under $100 whats the point? I wouldn't expect any big marketing pushes until the US merger is settled and with it the hardware issues.

I believe after an initial go-round both Bev and *C realized they were playing pretty much a zero-gain game from those marketing practices. I doubt either would try this again unless a very clear superior advantage in one system over the other develops (which I also doubt will happen).

No BEV will not be exchanging any starchoice equipment, main reason being that they are useless for the repatriation offer that is now expired...just because they are not compatible with the BEV technology...maybe they will exchange them once the technology is updated....but until then Sc Recvrs are not usable with BEV...so they dont need them.

Also..we don't accept starchoice trade in's because at this point we don't need too. That type of promotion is a strategy of a company to try and draw in more customers, at this point our marketing department doesnt feel we need to have to do this because. the system sells itself, that costs a lot of money to do and the return on it does not out weigh the cost. we will usually do it if star choice does it. we are the industry leader for now and wont be worrying about that startegy for now + the hardware issue itself...too much involved..

Wonder if Expressvu will do another gray market exchange in the future? Think of the money they could then make re-selling it all to Canadian dealers.

LOL

Post above is right, the equipment is so cheap now it doesn't make sence for anyone to do it.

Yes they may decide to do that but the repatriation offer was on for so long that they are probably overstocked with the Grey market recievers...sp i dont think it will be offered for a while.
