We are thinking to adding a Canadian pizza service to our satellite farm of DTV & 4DTV. This I'm sure will add to the visual skyscape in our neighborhood. . What are Expresspuke & Some Choice going to add for services with their new satellites?
I'm not going to ask "which is better? - both look pretty lame, but it's the only way to get CBC without the $5 grand Tanberg receiver.

Too early to say now, they both got done adding
about 40 channels last fall.
I'd say choose on what they have now.

ExpressVu intends to use it primarily to add more HDTV programming. I'm not aware of Star Choice's plans, but I'd be surprised if they weren't along the same lines. Both providers already carry almost everything that is available to them now.

With Expresspoop you have to pay 20 minimum package to subscribe. With No Choice you can take a basic package for less.

*C has the free install with their new Simple Sat program. Also bigger programming credit to get you going. $150 vs $75 this month. Sears xmas catalogue (good til March 28) offers the basic *C unit for $199, comparable with Bev. If you want a 2nd set of outs, $299 for *C 401, only option with Bev is the PVR @ ~$700 (or HDTV6000), due to lack of mid-range offering.
Lowest cost programming is cheaper with *C because of new $20 minimum charge with Bev. Bev has also instituted a $10 reconnect fee if you cancel service for a vacation stoppage. Also, any extra programming must be kept for a minimum of 1 month when making changes.
*C has no fee for vacation disconnects/reconnects, no minimum time committment to programming changes. *C charges $5 for service to any number of extra receivers.
From what I understand Bev is strapped for Sat space until early next year, not sure about *C.
By the way, I have Bev (for the NHL Centre Ice Package)

Absolutly Snoman with Bev it a 20$ min p/m but you must say also that you will get 20$ worth of programming not just the basic
And by the way what do you get with *C for the basic programming fee 17.99 just currius

With the *C basic you get about the same as Bev 'Locals' plus the Bev $5.95 Networks pkg and a PBS for $17.95. For someone who generally just wants the basics, *C is probably the better choice, especially because they allow you to add channels for the weekend and then cancel without extra service charges (and they prorate the fees, so you only pay for the days you had the channels).
Many ways to slice a channel line-up...

For some one who doesn't want everything, or close to it, Starchoice seems to have the better choices. You can get the silver package which includes the basics plus any three themes for less than $30. I was looking and with xvu their smallest deal has five themes.
It looks like xvu has cleaned up their packaging a lot since last summer. When I was looking at it last year, it was horribly messy, with different prices for different themes, and no deals at all in the mid range.

Has EVU come out with new offerings? The pamplet I have shows 'Locals' and 7 themes for $38.99 as being the lowest price ValuPac.
