I'm pretty sure S.C. will not authorize a H.I.T.S receiver. Do you get any of the preview channels (i.e. 199)

Haven't we been through this before?
This is a HITS receiver. It is managed through the Access Control Center in San Diego. They will only authorize it for HITS signals. These are used by small cable ops in the US to expand their channel lineup without doing a system rebuild.
Check out the quote below....
http://www.hits2home.net/hits/index.htm
Motorola and AT&T's Headend In The Sky (HITSŪ) offer a digital cable/satellite overlay service, HITS2HOME. The service was launched in mid-2000 and is now available in over one thousand cable systems nationwide to over 1 million basic cable households with over 100,000 subscribers taking the service (10% penetration after a year).
HITS2HOME allows a cable operator with systems that are too small to take advantage of the traditional HITS digital solution to immediately add up to 140+ channels of digital programming without adding headend equipment, engaging in costly re-builds or using valuable plant bandwidth.
The HITS digital signals are delivered to a satellite dish at cable customers' homes, and combined with the current analog services supplied by the local cable operator through the cable plant. The dual source receiver (DSR-410) manufactured by Motorola integrates the digital and analog signals. An interactive, on-screen guide seamlessly lists programming for both analog and digital services. Each operator will have the ability to brand the service with its logo.
Motorola provides the authorization services for the HITS2HOME service through its San Diego Operations Center. Motorola also coordinates an equipment package that includes the set-top, remote control, satellite dish, dish mount and all outdoor electronics for the convenience of the cable operator.

For provider ID, you have to enter in the provders EMM ID,
which for SC is 4128, and if it matches the stream, the signal window will go green, and say "Correct Signal Found"
You can call them up and see if they will authorize that
reciever to a new or existing account.

A part of the Motorola Agreement with each of the DCII program providers; serial numbers are set aside for use by 1 programmer only. All parties agree not to authorize any other serial numbers. So if it's a HITS receiver; it's a HITS receiver - there ain't no more

I wish to take this time to thank each and everyone who answered my questions about this receiver! SC said it wasn't one of theirs and so i went looking and yes H.I.T.S. uses this receiver but they also state that this receiver can be used to aquire services from other providers. It also states that you do not have to use HITS as your provider, but,as we all know how that goes when it comes to getting programming hehehe,so i decided to bid on a 920 on ebay and won it so i'll be using the 920 as soon as i get it!
For the final part of my post:
I know that a 920 cannot be used to subscribe to SC but after it's authorized,is it possible to receive the free DC2 channels on Anik-F1/E2

You don't want to go there. Your 920 will get the ITC Starchoice stuff, but you're begging for a world of grief by letting your 920 linger on A2.
