Any chance of them showing the Daytona 500 on the 17th? NBC is broadcasting it in HDTV.

NBC do not have any HD cameras with one exception , Leno.
The Daytona will not be in HD and there has been no indication that it would.

However if you know Marc Cuban .... /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Um, if NBC's digital stations are showing the tape-delay Olympics 24/7, how exactly does Leno figure in?

NBC HDTV is being paid for by Marc Cuban of hdnet. They signed a major deal to work together... goto http://www.hd.net for the press release.. so Geoff is correct that NBC only has Jay Leno HD Cameras.

That is until they see the amazing response that the HDTV broadcast of the Olympics are bringing them!! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

The picture is breathtaking... can't wait till everyone gets a chance to see it.. if you dont have an HDTV goto Future Shop and tune in just for a while.. you will see what we mean.

I'm aware of that. But if NBC's digital stations are scheduled to carry Olympics 24/7, how do they also fit in Leno-HD? Are they cutting away from the Olympics for an hour? None of the schedules I've seen indicate that? Or will they just not bother with an HD transmission of Leno during the Games? FWIW, we've now got a double dose of WHDH-DT on 288 AND 286. How come no HD from CBS-W tonight?

No room on nimiq for more that that.
until Nimiq goes on the air next year you're not going to get much more HD than you do right now.

It appears that Jay Leno will not be in HD anywhere for the duration of the Olympics. BEV should go back to CBS-W.

From a station engineer, posted on AVS Forum:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=871745#post871745

"No HDTV for Leno or Crossing Jordan until the Olympic HD feed ends Tuesday Feb 26.

The satellite transponder that is normally used for these programs' HDTV feed, as well as the stations' HD receivers, are in use for HD Olympics full-time."
