005 error code [Archive] - Canadian-TV Forums

One of my 2700's was affected yesterday with all channels lost. No intervention on my part and all channels have returned except movies (607 - 614) and 780 Playboy . I get a blinking "Attention 005" message to the effect that "Your Smartcard does not currently have authoriztion to view or purchase program. Please wait or channel up or down." Is there anything I can do before calling Bev and being stuck on hold for an eternity?

Something simular happened to me.Take out your card(turn off your system first), then wait 30 seconds.Place your card back into the system turn it on.If it still does work call BEV ask for a 'Hit' and if it does it again you may have a defective smartcard. Thats what I had a defective smartcard.

I pulled the card a you suggested, got the movie channels back, I'll try one more time for the Playboy ch. Thx.
