Here's a link to the sad story of BPM, Movieola & I Channel in today's Globe <a target="_blank" href=http://www.globeandmail.com/servlet/GIS.Servlets.HTMLTemplate?tf=tgam/common/FullStory.html&cf=tgam/common/FullStory.cfg&configFileLoc=tgam/config&vg=BigAdVariableGenerator&date=20020209&dat eOffset=&hub=business&title=Business&cache_key=bus inessCanadianHeadline&current_row=5&start_row=5&nu m_rows=1>www.globeandmail.com/servlet/GIS.Servlets.HTMLTemplate?tf=tgam/common/FullStory.html&cf=tgam/common/FullStory.cfg&configFileLoc=tgam/config&vg=BigAdVariableGenerator&date=20020209&dat eOffset=&hub=business&title=Business&cache_key=bus inessCanadianHeadline&current_row=5&start_row=5&nu m_rows=1</a>

That also proves that Shaw calls the shots on what channels SC subs get to see.

Did you notice that 1 of the major owners of Stornaway is Cogeco. They should have known that there doomed when they couldn't cut deal with Shaw for all services.

Just the beginning of the end for some digital channels...hard to see someone lose 35 million dollars in such a short period of time if they have lost 17 million in six months. Why cant companies be honest and just say: we tried but the interest was not there!

But the Izzy (hey it's All in the Family" time again) channels + Moses sub subs(We need Fashion Television 2 plus The Traffic Lights on Queen Street Channel) will just keep on being there.

The only time I've watched I-Channel is the other day when I was interested in watching the BEV/Rogers/others discuss
digital TV. I've never watched anything on Movieola and the BPM channel doesn't interest me at all. I guess I'm not alone in rejecting Stornoway's offerings.

Well I guess it might be the start of the end for these 3 channels.

I wonder. i-channel is not only a category 1, it's in the popular "News" package on Bell Expressvu, so they're going to have a fairly decent subscriber revenue stream coming in, even if no one is watching.
BPM:TV is one of my favourites.
They are a "dance" music channel, but you don't have to be a dancer, clubber, or raver to enjoy the music.
You don't even have to be under 30, but it helps (I'm 30+).
The music includes Euro techno / house / hip-hop / DJ music that is mostly unavailable on the other music channels.
The distinguishing feature is that most of the BPM tunes have a very strong beat, to make them danceable.
Unfortunately BPM still only has a few hours of new programming per week.
BPM and most of the other new channels have the problem that they are only available on satellite and digital cable,
so they are limited to a small market in comparison to old channels like MuchMusic that are also available on analog cable.
Crossing my fingers and hoping that BPM survives.

If these channels are in your package, will your sub price drop when these (or other) channels stop?
