I wonder if it is me who cannot find anything positive about S.Choice but my opinion is that S.C was a much better value 3 years ago than now .

Specially for the Bilingual and French subs,
Please note that I am not pro Bev......let me know if you beleive that S.C is a better dth company than it was 3/4 years ago .

Star Choice was better 3 years ago. I think as of the last half of 2001 they started to be not as good as they were 3 years ago. I hope they get back on track, and provide the good service in my oppinion that they had 3 years ago.

SC is fine. While it would seem that reading this board that SC subs everywhere were rising up in revolt -- I think most are happy. I know my TV experience would be no better by jumping to EVU. I can see an HD sub thinking otherwise but for the masses, it is fine.

Ah yes, three years ago we had...

...Crappy picture quality on Buffalo nets
...No Detroit nets
...Spokane nets not available in the East
...Spokane FM's not available in the East
...Only West local available in the East was VTV.
...No Canadian FMs except UofTFM
...Frequent rainfade.
..."Soft" picture quality on many channels.
...No 5.1 on any TMN flicks.
...None of the new digital channels.
...No NewPL or NewRO or CHEX

...LOL...You may have fond memories of the past....I don't!

I don't like SC as much as I used to for the following reasons.
They refuse to carry all the new channels even though bandwidth isn't an issue and the new $5 charge.
Other than that I wont be canceling my service, just axing the 921 subscription and keeping the 410.

As a dealer I agree there has been problem's with software revision's , which hopefully are behind us . If they could keep the no info prob fixed it would be good . As far as the extra 5 buck's a month goes it's no biggie as Bell will undoubtedly have it too sometime in the near future . The HDTV drop out's are annoying . Most of my sub's are happy ....that I know of although Bell has a big advantage by offering our local ch and folk's around here love the harness racing too .

Well they finally got thru the dual sat upgrade for HD and bilingual.
That was a hurdle no doubt.
But they are dual sat and hopefully will exploit this advantage this year.
Both companies will be tweaking their sub rates and service charges to balance the books.
But all in all the channel selection and price per channels offerred is much better today than 3 years ago.
Both companies are doing a relatively good job.

I don't have StarChoice or Expressvu, but my friends tell me that they are way behind the times compared to the other companies.

snoman : I think the lack of all new specialties has more to do with the CRTC than anything else.

I'm talking about all the new digitals already carried by Rogers.
Discovery Wings, all the new Chums, etc.
