View Full Version : Oh-Oh...*C HD programming better than BEV tonight!
I never thought I would see the day when this would be so. If they both do what they say they will do tonight (always in question), then *C has it right and BEV is bad, bad, bad.
*C indicates the PBS "American Family" and movie "Diagnosis Murder" on one HD channel while showing the "Network" programming "My wife&Kids--Drew Carey--The Job", on the other HD channel.
BEV indicates it will only show "American Family" and the movie. No Network shows at all(ok, they both have the big chin guy later). This is bad, bad, bad on you BEV. Falling behind *C like this is really embarassing for you.
Like they each have the same capacity of 2 HD channels at a time. They each just seem to have dumb spells over what to put on them. It must be BEV's turn I guess. (Or has one of us ordered "Shrek" tonight?)

Whats this, do I here the Cheerleaders pulling up along side the Xvu Bandwagon. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
My family enjoy My wife and kids, it has been disapointing since bell stop showing it.
$23 for basic to get this one show back seems a little steep, if I drop the bell sub no more HDNET.
Don't mind the $399 for decoder as it can be used with my bud as well.
What to do?
You are are right. I forgot. I need nights like this to attempt to justify having both systems.

Yes and the skating is good. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
God, if I make the jump to a 201HD decoder and 905 sidecar for the *C 921, it just makes sense to shut off my bell sub.
Funny by uping the min sub to $20 they stop any chance of me keeping a $10.95 sub till Nimiq2.
I won't pay an extra $20 per month for HDNET and PPV Shrek.
I may just go with ant and C band, but more than likely will throw some money at *C.
Do you really doubt that I will give my dollar to who serves me best? I guess I get down on *C because they could be so much more, I say again, Not the same company anymore. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

Bugsy, CMS
do you agree
"God, if I make the jump to a 201HD decoder and 905 sidecar for the *C 921, it just makes sense to shut off my bell sub."
Arthur,
See that banging head below your name.
I hope that's you right now.

Arthur,
Probably best to hold off for now and to continue monitoring this forum for feedback. Personally, I have no regrets making the jump, but I fully realize it will be some time before the promise of HDTV will bear fruit.
Also, based on this $5.00 second receiver charge, I'm now wondering whether HDTV viewers will get "dinged" down the road (and by how much). Certainly, can't rule out the possibility and perhaps it's unfair to expect otherwise.

Dave is telling HD subs to get ready to add 3rd LNBF for tri satellite operation. Invoices being changed to show only HDNet HD subs (not HBO HD) in n/c column. Looks like HD satellite + charge coming there

If it was only for *C I would have to agree and stick with my bell 6000 for now.
With the 905 I would have access to HBO , Showtime and a HD sports channel on K2.

Weasel! Traitor! Rat from sinking ship! Paul Revere character! Liberal!
Seriously Arthur, I say go for it. It's your nickel. I'm just afraid that the Cheerleaders have worn you down, and the evil one from the far east has you under his spell. BTW, if you get one of the "new" HDD201 models, let me know if you see any distortion on the HS10 when using the 3 component inputs. If not I may try to get mine upgraded. Cheers.

Now thats just down right nasty. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
"I'm just afraid that the Cheerleaders have worn you down"
No if not for the C band, *C doesn't make a lot of sense.
"and the evil one from the far east has you under his spell."
A name change could be in order.
Have not made up my mind yet, the wife says go ahead but if I'm going to compete with Future Shop I'll need a wall of TVs.
LOL..." Evil one from the East " now now fellow's...Ddire seem's like a nice fellow ! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Evil one from the far east = Starchoice. Feel better now? /forums/images/icons/smile.gif Cheers.
Never say never.
I used to say "I'll never have cable again!" That all changed with my cable modem.

I agree, and I said the same thing as you, and also now have a cable modem. I have NO brand loyaltys to either DTH provider. At the moment I prefer BEV because they manage to provide HD that WORKS, most of the time. Not so with the other guys. If I lived in an area that had HD on cable, it worked as well as BEV, and offered more channels, I would junk the satellite for that cable. Cheers.
