Is there a way to hook my Navigo 401 to a Sony DAV-S500 DVD HT, it only has optical in for 5.1 and the 401 has this single phono plug thing. Obviously new to this if there is an easy answer or any answer I'd love to know, thanks.

I'm not sure but I think radio shack sells somthing that will convert a coaxial digital signal out (of 401) to and optical in, and vise-versa. If they don't your stuck till you buy a seperate DD/dts/pro-logic reciver.

P.S.- a digital signal (either DD or dts)is does not always have 5.1ch of audio. They are carriers, they contain UP TO 5.1 chs of audio.

FOr more info go to www.dolby.com (http://www.dolby.com) and look around, lots to learn there and it can be trusted.

Okay now one last question, in the audio setup, for 5.1, Surround or Dolby?

Dolby Digital (I think it says digital). Did you get the converter?

Dolby, no Digital, yes I got the converter and it's about twice as loud. I'm using dolby but haven't seen any action in the surrounds yet.

And you won't see any 5.1 "action in the surrounds" until you watch a 5.1 movie on TMN. Or use Pro-Logic which will give you "simulated" surround. As for the setting on the 401, you'll have to look in the manual, I have no I idea.
