View Full Version : ExpressVu EDTV Superbowl & HDTV NBA on SuperSunday

01-31-2002, 09:22 PM
In addition to the Fox EDTV Superbowl, ExpressVu will also carry the HDNet/NBC NBA game between the LA Lakers & Dallas Mavericks.

The on-line HDTV info is not accurate at this time, but it may be corrected. There are different groups responsible for the on-line info & the programming itself, and they are not always on the same page.

This is AMAZING news thank you Ken!!

Now I can show people at my Super Bowl party the difference between HDNET and FOX DTV.... /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Wow, what a relief !

I have to wonder if my email to the Bell ExpressVU media relations contact earlier this week helped. I complained that Starchoice was carrying the game in HTDV, and Futureshop had run Boxing Day ads claiming that both BEV and Starchoice were going to be running the "big games" in Widescreen.

I was going to go out today to buy a StarChoice HD system, that's how desperate I was to salvage my HDTV superbowl party !

.... and I as well noted how you placed the DTC 100 over the 6000 in your tag line ... How does it feel to know that Charlie aims to obsolete both your boxes? (see Nagravision buys into Echostar story). Well at least the DTC 100 can be used for OTA HD /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Are suggesting that we ALL should have SC HD instead?
Your joking , right?

02-01-2002, 05:21 PM
what time should we show up on Sunday, Geoff?
BTW, is there room to park the bus on your street?

02-01-2002, 05:25 PM
Of course there room.
Park the bus down at the school yard and we will run shuttle's back in forth to the "theater" /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Basketball HD starts I think around 1:30 pm EST.(for those of you who are coming from B.C.)

Hey Geoff

Do you want us to bring the booze to your front door or back?

BTW, we are willing to skip church on Sunday morning if you need help setting up

02-01-2002, 09:33 PM
I'll make sure the driveway is clear so the truck can back up to the door.
Also, i'll build a ramp so it will make bringing the dolly's up the stairs eaiser. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

It took me awhile to get there, but the EVU Program Guide shows the B-Ball & Superbowl for Sunday.

02-02-2002, 02:56 PM
Its nice having a 5100 Program Guide where you can just push "24" or "48" and it zooms ahead 24/48 hours. hheheh. By the way, any plans on a 6000 software upgrade? I would love to see the picture in Program Guide in the next upgrade. It allows you not to miss any programming while channel surfing. It is the best PG out there imo.

02-02-2002, 09:37 PM
Please help me. I don't understand how to push 24 or 48 to go ahead in the guide.

Can you explain how that is done on the 5100.

02-03-2002, 03:27 AM
When you are in the guide enter the number of hours you want to advance and then press the right arrow key..

I believe this works on all models, but anything over 3 hours ahead will prompt a message regarding retrieving info from the satellite unless you have the 5100 since it now stores its guide info on the hard drive..

02-03-2002, 04:34 AM
Oh wow. It works like a charm. It took me 20 minutes using the right arrow alone, you have to wait each time you go ahead a few hours.

Thanks for the tip, what's the expression? Better late than never!

I was quite impressed over the broadcast yesterday. Thanks Bell.

BTW thanks for NOT adding $4.99 per extra receiver in the household. (I hope you never do!)
