When the system is hung up on aquiring sat signal. What are the true causes for this.

Do you mean the receiver is locked up? Can you change channels?

Sorry. My question was incomplete. I have BEV and outside of bad weather the system comes up with the message Attention/Error signal has been lost... aquiring sat signal. Transpnoders are at 0% and the system reads not locked. Whenever you call EV they go over the fact that it could be cabling, LNB, IRD. Is this true or does another elements factor into the equation.

What do you mean outside of bad weather??

Is there snow or ice on your dish??

There is no snow, ice on dish and it is not because of rain fade. One day system is working and then it's stuck on aquiring sat signal.

Did you try unplugging the receiver from the power for about a minute and plugging it back in (reset)?

If you have a dual LNB - try hitching cable to other connection. If you still have problems, try another length of cable. Are you losing pic. on all channels or just half of them?

Take the receiver to a friend's who has Bell and hook it up at his/her place and see if it works . If it does , take it back home and rehook it back up and change your LNB if it's still not working , which has a 2 yr warranty .

What is you signal strength under clear conditions? If it is low your dish may not be aimed properly.

I had similar problems that were resolved by relocating the reciever (3100) so that it was farther away from the TV. I suspect some sort of RF interference from the TV was raising the noise threshold in the unit and preventing lock.

SC dish/lnb/receiver lifetime warranty if you have 2 or more receivers with Ultimate pkg or 5$ service fee on lesser pkgs.
SC dish/lnb lifetime warranty if you have only 1 box
SC free move program as well.
BEV 1 yr on all and its your problem .

rofl.. we will all have different receivers in a few years anyway... lifetime warranty is not all that great imo for a product that will be replaced like all electronics and computer products are. It is nice to have, but... i think the $5 fee is probably just a disguise to make more money?

I'm a installer for Dish network (Echostar) in the USA in Florida. I have ran into similar problem a few times on service calls on dual systems with the Dish 500 system. What would hapen is one receiver would lose signal while the other wouldn't when they weren't on the same channel. There has always been two causes for this problem and they are Sw21 switches going bad on one side (this probably isn't your problem since I don't think BEV uses Dish 500 Dishes) the other is a bad LNB
