What is the difference between the StarChoice HDD200 and HDD201? Will the HDD200 decode HD signals to be viewed on a standard composite input television? Is there added cost to subscribe to HD programming?

The model number was changed to '201' for two reasons: 1) It signified a new firmware version; 2)It gave Star Choice a 'unique' model number to differentiate it from the 4DTV HDD, but they are really one and the same unit.

The minimum output of the 200/201 is 480p. It does not support any sort of NTSC output.

So the only way to watch the output of the HDD200 is with a HDTV television? No way to get either a composite or even S-video signal?

Why would anyone have a HDD200/201 if they don't have a HDTV? This is an outboard decoder to add HD to Motorola cable boxes, 4DTV + SC.

I was asked the same question and figured this was the place for an answer. I don't have HDTV or a HD200, so have to ask somewhere!
