View Full Version : Cinema 6 One for All and a Bell 5100
I've used the Sat code of 0775 and got all the standard stuff working.
I've used the extended codes found at
http://www.hifi-remote.com/hifi-remotecgi/ueic.cgi?sat_0775
to get the PVR functions working. It lists DISH PVR501 but it all works with the 5100.
My problem is that I cannot get the "play" button to funtion.
I can use the test function and 050 will act as play. But it will not work when I assign it to the play button.
Anyone else got the play button working? Have any Ideas about what might be wrong?
All my other functions work fine.

I'm using the Cinema 6 with the 5100 but I didn't use extended codes, I just "Learned" the codes from my 5100 remote onto the Cinema 6. Since everything else is working on your Cinema 6 maybe you can just learn the Play button.

That worked. I was not aware the 5100 remote output both the IR and UHF signals.

*sigh*
I've got a OneForAll Cinema 7 -- the Model 7200 which, unlike the Cinema 7 model 7800, is not learning.
Hence, I too am stuck with everything workin ok except the blasted Play button. I've spent the whole afternoon with OBC/EFC charts and worksheets. I've yet to find the code.
If anyone happens to know the correct code for the Play button, please let me know.

Just a shot in the dark here, but maybe it's not the code that's wrong. Why don't you try mapping the 050 to a different button, like "Display" or "Enter".

Ya, I looked at those charts too before I learned the button. They all worked in test mode but would not work with the play button assined. Be aware that pressing the pause button two times has the same effect as pressing play once.
Is it possible to blink back a button to get its code like you can do for the device buttons? Or is that something the JP1 interface guys could help with. Thats a little more advanced then I've gotten into so I don't know the details.
I also noticed my "5" key was showing up as a "0" today. I had to learn it as well to get it working.

I am using the same remote with the JP1 interface and have it completely reprogrammed. I have made and upgrade of the 0775 code with the buttoons mapped to my liking.. but from my experience with this 050 is DEFINITELY the proper code for "play". I have my Cinema 6 controlling 7 deviced (it is a cin 7 internally) and 2 of them are eVu receivers (6000 on id1 and 5100 on id2).. You should really put together the interface decribed at the same site you quoted. It makes this remote better than the most expensive ones out there (IMHO)... for instance, the fact that I can control via IR eVu receivers not on ID 1.
With an extender available from the same group the possibilities are limitless. I have device buttons set up to turn on all the relavent pieces of gear for the device, select the relavent inputs, device specific modes (HD/SD, 16x9 and 4x3, TV picture calibration modes) all with macros.
Even better, for devices that don't have disrete codes for these functions, (on/off, HD/SD, picture mode, etc) there are some special protocols available (I wrote on of 'em) that let the remote keep track of what state stuff is in to simulate discrete codes. I also have different selections for the same devices (ie eVu 6000) based on shifted device keys so I can pick 6000 thru TV speakers (all inputs set correcly, and volume buttons control TV volume), 6000 through HT audio system (volume mapped to preamp), 6000 HD through audio system (picture mode auto selected, volume through preamp), PiP keys always work TV pip functions (and "shifted" versions of those keys work PIP advanced functions)
I you have an expanding HT system, the one for all remotes (and oem radio shack ones) with the JP1 interface is as awesome as it gets.
I know it seems like overkill but for anyone looking for the ultimate remote (heck my Cin6 cost $15 at costco!) you don't need a Pronto! Check out the JP1 group at yahoo groups and www.hifi-remote.com (http://www.hifi-remote.com) and seek out JP1.
It costs about $5 in parts to make working interface, all the software is free. The Cin6/7 is a little harder because you have to solder jumper pins on your remote's circuit board but if you go for a Radio Shack version (15-1994, clearout for $40 right now) the pins are built in and this is a TON of free extension software available for it.
