540P from Tosh Players & 16:9 squeeze

Hi. Just read a post on another forum that talked about the ability for people to trick a Toshiba 55H70 to do 16:9 vertical compression when fed a 540p signal as opposed to 480p.

The new Toshiba Prog Scan DVD players claim 540p capability. Can this be used to engage 16:9 vertical compression on these sets when watching anamorphic material?

The new Toshiba DVD players output 540 TV Lines of resolution horizontally, not vertically.

Vertical output is 480 lines just like every other DVD player. AFAIK, there are no 540p players either available or announced.
