View Full Version : SC 305 on the Quad: Low Signal

I've been getting this lots lately. I would install a SC 305 on the 60 e dish with that new non-stacked Quad LNBF and would get low signals. All New RG6 Coax, clean connections, and nothing south of the dish. All these rec's come from one retailer, probably a bad batch from the factory. Who knows.

Typical scenario - Signal strength 20 Quality 80. Eb No readings + 8.0 or better

Never had this with the twin-stacked system. any other installers getting a similar situation?

also. Ch 301 CBC montreal and 312 CFCF would come out with Eb no readings of + 5.5. Thought that was dangerously low. I know they come off E2, probably a national conus beam. Channels 291 and 293 HDTVW come in hot with eb no's +9.6 and better.

I thought those guys wouldn't be using national beam TP's off the 12 year old E2 !!

What would be normal for E2 (in Winnipeg), I've seen 9.2 (EB/NO) on F1, and 5.1 on E2 at the same time with a quad, but as high as 12.0 for the 291 293 hdtv channels.

Rfinder I find the quad lnbf works good with the 305. Channels 301 and 312 have lower signal strengths on E2 for me also. Still accetable though.
