Eastlink HD PVR...here now!!

Is anyone using it yet. I think I will give it a try soon as we had to take down our dish as our landlords are @ssholes.

$15/month rental for the box. It's a Mot DCT-6208.

It's a pretty decent box. Not as good as the Bell PVR, IMO, but better than the SA. If you're into HD, then it's better than the Bell box, however.

Not HDTV here for another few years I would think..

I just want it for the PVR as TV without one sucks big time.

There is really not much information available. Eastlink has no clue so I have a question for you .....

Can I record one show and watch another?
Does it output 480i for those of us who are HDTV challenged?
How many days is the guide?

You cannot record one show and watch one live - it has a single tuner. You can record a show and watch a previously recorded show, however.

Yes, it will output 480i.

Can't recall how many days the guide is - 7?

The DCT6412 is on the horizon - dual tuner, 120 GB HD, so don't buy the 6208 if you're tempted, I'd wait for the 6412.
