View Full Version : TSN HD - Where's the HD

1. I am a little disappointed that TSN HD did not cover Skate Canada in HD ... it was on the TSN HD channel but only as 4:3 SDTV. I would think it would have been an opportunity to win over some women viewers to HDTV.

2. Are we not going to see any of the CFL playoffs in HDTV?

So, TSN HD ... I ask where is the HDTV. Billiards in HDTV just doesn't cut it! (yes I know they have some NFL games on, but they are not TSN productions).

Gotta agree with you HiDef.

While I'm not a huge figure skating fan, the Skate Canada competition in Mississauga should have been a no-brainer.

After a promising start with some very well-produced CFL games, TSN-HD seems to have settled into what we all feared it would become, an excuse to simsub ESPN productions. And because of broadcast rights, we're only getting a small fraction of those /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

What's especially disappointing is TSN-HD's inability to step up with some sort of HD hockey schedule. Particularly when we have the likes of pauldryan posting to this forum about the beautiful picture he's seeing on HDNet from the Phoenix-Canucks game. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

They're gonna have to beef up their schedule considerably by January if they expect me to fork over an extra $1.99 every month.

Ouch! That didn't sound too complimentary! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Particularly when I was busy touting your skills over at The Spot as far back as January, 2002 .... Here's how to show off your system (http://www.hometheaterspot.com/htsthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB1&Number=2079&Forum=All _Forums&Words=pauldryan&Match=Username&Searchpage= 1&Limit=50&Old=allposts&Main=2079&Search=true#Post 2079)

I took it as meaning "people like pauldryan, for example". Just pointing to an example of someone who is seeing hockey the way TSN should be doing some games, hopefully soon. I would hope that's the way he meant it.

Exactly. Thanks Max. No offense intended pauldryan.

Now, to veer this thread somewhat back on track:

With the Canucks and other Canadian NHL teams stepping more boldly this season in PPV games to bolster their bottom line, how come they're not offering viewers some REAL added value by producing the games in HD? The Canucks, especially, have been very vocal this season about the popularity of their PPV games, and the revenue they're generating; so step up, bring in an HD production truck and give me the games in HD, something that's REALLY worth my ten bucks.

I am not at all interested in PPV NHL hockey in SDTV.

However, IF they offered it in HDTV I would be!
