According to the lady i spoke to on the phone from HDNET (303)388-8500 and she told me that Mark Cuban is interested in bringing HDNET programming to Canada....

but...

He wants us to send him emails

If he gets a lot then he will try and get it in Canada!!!!!!!

Everyone send an email to mark@hd.net

and tell him we want hdnet in Canada!

Tell your friends, family, co-workers, everyone even if they don't own the hdtv or satellite.

emailed both SC and HDnet!

I got a quick response from HDnet:
"we would love to be there.. tell them you want HDNet and have them contact us !

m"

and I emailed starchoice the following:
"Dear Starchoice:
It's been one year since I purchased a HDTV decoder and so far I feel somewhat saddened by its lineup. Yes, there have been some programming improvements but I was hoping for much more since the launch of Anik F1. I am aware of a new channel in the USA called HDnet that would be a nice edition to loyal Starchoice HDTV users or new shows like Enterprise which are supposedly available in HD.
This would go along way with current users and I'm sure would increase you're user base. Remember you're prospects look to existing users for referrals.
I hope to see some improvements."

I just e-mailed Mark too.

C'mon JohnnyG. I don't see you here yet.

I know you would love a little HD to show in your store.

But of course I will - whatever is on Star Choice that is! Johnny don't do no US sat stuff.

HDNet, as a whole, will be a long time coming to Canada, if ever. Don't forget about the CRTC in all this!

However, it is entirely possible for the sat companies to buy individual programming, if they team up with a 'regular' station. Soooo, my advice is to hit SportsNet and/or TSN to buy (at least some of) the programming for distribution in Canada.

Mark,
Thank you for pushing HD to the next level.Good luck.
This may or may not have come to your attention but is it a possibility of broadcasting the Canadian Football League games on your HD channel?Maybe the playoffs and the Grey Cup.
I could be alot cheeper than the NFL.
Something to consider perhaps.

Thanks Again,

Geoff
